The photographs are taken with sufficient exposure time to capture the surrounding traffic movement; by employing this element of time-based distance. The freeze is about striking a pose inspired by an ever-developing sub-cultural inventory that incorporates everything from yoga to athletics. From head to toe, the performer’s body is re-aligned and subjected to contortions that dismantle the traditional European hierarchies applied to the human figure.
