Nevin Aladağ interviews Nevin Aladağ  2011/2010/2009

During the performance, the audience cannot link either the subject of speech or the physical subject, the actor, or the various textual subjects to an origin. The question ‘Who speaks?’ may be what the audience, during the moment of initial irritation, asks itself; but the work reduces this question ad absurdum. Nevin Aladağ asks herself questions, and thus also questions her own ability to give the answers she seeks. So in preparation of the performance, she sends her questions to friends, to art-world acquaintances, to relatives, asking them for their answers. These answers form the script for this performance, a quest to collect the fragments of possible identities. It is an invitation to the interviewee to speak through her voice and through the body of the actor in a symbiotic way.
